Now all the festivities are over, it’s time to look ahead to what you want to achieve in 2019 to be a successful online marketer. I loved having the freedom to take time off over the festive season, but I also squeezed a bit of work in because I love doing it. My head is often so full of new ideas that I just can’t wait to get started.
We all have a few ways that we can improve our approach to work. It’s great to continuously grow. Taking an objective view of your working practices can help you to reframe your perspective and nudge you back in the right direction or re-enthuse you, if you need it.
Look at these resolutions for the successful online marketer and see if any of them resonate with you. If so, make the commitment to follow up in these productive first few weeks of the year.
Get right to it
Set yourself deadlines and stick to them. If you don’t you can find yourself stuck in the same project rut for longer than you want. You can achieve a lot in the next month, year or five years if you’re focused.
Look at your goals
January is a great time for checking that your goals are still current. You can see how far you’ve come in the last year and maybe even upsize your ambitions for 2019 because you’ve done so well. It’s ok to make changes. In fact, it’s imperative that you keep incorporating changes to your vision or lifestyle into your plan, so it stays fresh and keeps you excited.
Communicate more
Once you have subscribers to your list, you need to keep in touch with them. Sporadic communication can make you look flaky and, with all the email traffic people receive, the odd email here and there is unlikely to stand out from the crowd. You have to keep gently reminding people who you are and what you have to offer.
Automate where you can…
Most people get into online marketing to give them more money and time to do what they really want. As you take on more and more, the smart move is to automate things like Facebook posts and emails so you never miss a chance to communicate but you’re not always buried in a to-do list.
… but keep things personal
Even with automation, you can still use an authentic, personal voice. Talk about what you know and what you are experiencing because a lot of our perceptions are universal. If it hits the mark for you, it will for someone else as well.
Stay with me
These are just a few of the ways I keep my online marketing approach relevant and well-tailored to my life. To find out more about how I approach things, the tools I use and the wonderful world of online marketing, make sure you stay in touch in 2019. It’s always great to hear from you and I will be sending out my usual emails regularly this year. Happy New Year everyone!
