Dean’s Top Piece Of Advice?

Here’s today’s video:

In today’s video, Dean marks an auspicious day in the history of his business. Here’s the story of why 20th October was so important to him.

In 2004, Dean Holland first discovered that people were making money on the internet. He wanted to get in on the action but, everything that he tried didn’t work out. It led to a lot of unnecessary buying and animosity towards the sea of faces offering advice out there. At age 24, he was $60,000 in debt, getting nowhere and receiving tons of emails a day from all the providers he had subscribed to. One day, he logged into his email and one of these stood out. The subject line was ‘Meet me in London, I’m paying’. This was from Alex Jeffreys (http://marketingwithyou.com/). He offered to buy tickets to an event in London for the first ten people who replied to his email. Initially, Dean walked away because he felt intimidated but he went back, pursued the opportunity and got a ticket.

At the event, he said very little because he was still doubting his right to interact with this internet marketing guru. However, at the last minute, he worked up the courage to speak to Alex and asked a key question that is on a lot of people’s minds – ‘what is it I can go home and do right now?’. Alex told him to start a blog sharing his experiences, successes, frustrations and so on.

Dean took his advice and started his blog nine years ago. Here is his first blog post: https://deanholland.wordpress.com/2008/10/20/my-first-blog-post/

Go and have a dig around on Dean’s old site to see someone growing and learning to be the successful internet marketer he is today.

Dean’s top piece of advice is this:

Stop trying to figure it out on your own! Get a mentor! Do whatever it takes to get connected to others. Do it now – time is the one commodity we can never get back.
