The 12 Days of Online Marketing Pt. 2

Ahem…. carrying on….

Seven Facebook posts

With social media, you can explore aspects of your business in more depth, repost the work of people who inspire you and generally engage your audience where they connect the most. The average person picks up their phone at least 28 times a day and many of those pick-ups will be social media engagements. Capitalise on that and keep those posts rolling. You can use automated systems to post so that you can spend a few hours a week, or month, setting up your minimum engagement and then you can add ad-hoc posts whenever you have the time.

Six video blogs

Dynamic media was one of the topics we talked about this year. It’s still going strong and there are lots of ways you can engage through video. If you’re brave, you can even do a Facebook live and share what’s happening in the moment. Rather than focusing on putting something out there that is polished and perfect, let people see your flaws. We all have vulnerabilities and being brave enough to show yours will inspire people.

Fiiiiiive freeeeeee gifts

If I can give you something for free that helps your business I will. There is a constant transaction that goes on between you and your potential audience. You have to show that you are willing to give – whether it’s software, a handy guide or just your time for engagement, the level of value that you offer will be reflected in the response you get. It’s also a powerful way to say to yourself that you are doing so well that you have excess to spare. Banish feelings of scarcity and you will notice more abundance in your work.

Four mentors

I love to revisit the work of people who inspire me such as my mentor, Dean Holland. He was in the right place at the right time to crystallise the ideas I had been having about work and how I wanted to be in the world. A mentor is someone that you can learn from and that can be anyone if you are watching carefully enough. Everyone has something to offer.

Three task lists

Focus is everything and setting yourself tasks and goals is one way to ensure that your online marketing business continues to grow. To begin with, it can be hard to prioritise this kind of work because somehow, it doesn’t feel as ‘real’ as a 9-5 job. I can tell you from experience that, if you treat it like genuine work, it will pay you like more structured employment does except more so and without being tied to someone else’s agenda. Keep yourself motivated and track what you achieve by getting your to-do list on paper.

Two training courses

There’s always more to learn and somewhere to grow towards. You can get started and work with whatever you have right now but, in the future, aim to go on a training course or take an online seminar. Anything that keeps your juices flowing when it comes to your online business is a worthwhile use of your time. These events are often opportunities to meet new people and make friends as well as be inspired around your business.

… and some free Easy Sketch Pro software!

I’ve really enjoyed using this bit of software this year to create some fun and informative videos. You have to keep finding new ways to engage interest and state what you offer. That’s why I have been offering free Easy Sketch Pro Software to my subscribers. There’s still time to get yours by clicking here.
